criminal background and pre-employment screening is an important part of your hiring process.

Drug Store Employee Steals Lottery Tickets

According to reports out of Pennsylvania, a former Rite Aid employee has been accused of the theft of over $34,000 in lottery tickets. She is also charged with being in possession of drugs. All of this apparently happened in Pottsville, Pennsylvania. The drug store called the Pottsville Bureau of Police on 03/22/2023, and officers were dispatched t the scene. The investigation found that Shelly Ann Abell, who still at the store, was the suspected thief. Richard Pitcavage, an asset protection employee, told the officers that since November of 2022, Abell had stolen $34,277 in lottery tickets. Pitcavage showed officers surveillance video of the theft. He also got a written statement from Abell admitting to the thievery. Our guess is that a proper background check of the employee would have raised some concerns before she was hired. Did she have a criminal history? How about indications of drug use? First off I would like to say awesome blog! I had a quick question in which I'd like to ask if you do not mind. I was curious to find out how you center yourself and clear your head prior to writing. I have had a difficult time clearing my thoughts in getting my thoughts out there. I do enjoy writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes tend to be lost simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or hints? Cheers!
